How to Clean Your Ceiling Fan within Seconds

When was the last time you cleaned your ceiling fans? As you may already know, dust is the perfect habitat for the growth of dust mites. Dust mites are a main contributor to sinus infections and various respiratory and dermatological allergies such as asthma and eczema. Every time you turn on your dusty ceiling fan, you run the health risk of sending these mites scattering across your entire room.

While it is impossible to destroy your home’s entire dust mite population, you can still dramatically reduce their numbers by regularly cleaning the dust on your ceiling fans. So today we will be sharing with you an “oldie but goodie” ceiling fan cleaning hack that will change your life forever!

Here’s What You Will Need:

Pillowcase, Cloth, Cleaner, Ladder & Cap

  • Standard pillowcase (choose a worn-out one)
  • Mild cleaner
  • Cleaning cloth
  • Ladder
  • Cap

Step 1

Make sure the ceiling fan is switched off for safety and position your ladder accordingly. Put on a hat to cover your face from any dust that may fall off from the ceiling fan.

Step 2

Spray the mild cleaner on the inside of your pillowcase. Alternatively, simply wet the pillowcase with warm water.

Step 3

Slide the pillowcase over the fan blade all the way in, then carefully pulling it back out to trap all the dust on the top and bottom of the blades. This action should remove most, if not all, the dust on the surface of the blades.

Step 4

Finally, use a cleaning cloth to wipe the residual grime and dust on the ceiling fan.
