Downlights are the “bread and butter of lighting” for today’s homes as they are primarily used to provide general illumination and ambient light throughout the house when evening sets in. Downlights come in many different categories, sizes and configurations with the most common category being LED downlights with fixed frames. Gimble downlights, on the other hand, have frames that can be adjusted to change the direction of the light output. Finally, niche downlights are designed for installation under cabinets or recessed walls.
